Mark, while not exactly a shy person, isn't one to open up easily. He is slightly withdrawn, and only opens up fully to those he trusts, which isn't many. He doesn't think that it's a wise decision to open up and let too many people in, considering he grew up in politics and knows what can happen if secrets get spread too far. It can ruin a person, so he's very careful in his decision making and of who he trusts.

But, if he does trust you, you've certainly got someone on your side. He is loyal to a fault, and will stand by those he loves and trusts through anything. Scandal, heartache, whatever, he'll be there. Passionate about his loved ones, that is the one topic that he will not allow any give on. If you talk about them, he will snap back and tell you to leave them alone.

One thing he cannot stand is injustice, and he won't sit by and watch it happen. Fairness, he believes, is one of the biggest virtues someone can have. He doesn't like a liar, a cheater, or a backstabber. Which, considering his worldview, he's met plenty, including his grandfather, the politician. More than once an argument has broken out over dinner because Mark calls him out on his ideals and things. He loves them, and will stand by them, but he isn't afraid to call them out on it when they are alone, one on one.

Over all, though, Mark is quite relaxed. He, of course, gets upset, especially over the things already stated, but over all, he tries to stay calm, cool, and with his head screwed on right, which really helps in debate. He knows that keeping calm give you a leg up, and he plays off of that.
